AWARD WIN FOR SCARBOROUGH BUSINESS PARK

The construction of Scarborough Business Park has been singled out as a prime example of ‘sound business judgement and operational expertise’ at the Government Business Awards.

The infrastructure project on the 83-acre business park was awarded the Regeneration Project Award at a recent ceremony held at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, and beat off competition from projects in Stockport, Fife, Allerdale and North East Derbyshire.

The criterion for the award was a ‘local authority regeneration project that has been completed within budget and has improved the living and working conditions of residents and the local business community’.

The infrastructure project, which cost almost £10 million, was developed in partnership between Caddick Developments and Scarborough Borough Council, and was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Yorkshire Forward.

Sarah Friskney, Senior Development Surveyor for Caddick Developments, comments; “The infrastructure project forms a major milestone in the delivery of the business park, and we are delighted with the government award.”

The Government Business award granted to Scarborough Business Park follows on from the town’s recent commendation as Britain’s most enterprising Town.

Scarborough went on to beat town’s from across Europe to secure "Most Enterprising Town in Europe" at an awards ceremony held in Prague earlier this month.

Sarah Friskney continues; “We have worked very hard over the years, in conjunction with the Council, to turn the Business Park into a reality. We are very proud that this commitment and drive has contributed to such a prestigious string of awards for the town, which has now firmly placed Scarborough on the European Business Map.”
